We were thrilled to reimagine this iconic South Florida landmark originally designed by Addison Mizner. When we first arrived, the home was firmly rooted in the 1990s—but beneath the dated finishes, its architectural bones told a timeless story. Our mission was to restore its historic soul while infusing it with a relaxed, modern sensibility that fits the rhythm of a lively family. The challenge? Making a house of this scale feel cozy and lived-in. We leaned on authentic, regional materials—pecky cypress, handmade Moorish tiles, true terracotta, and natural marble—to ground the home in its surroundings. Layered with easy, comfortable furnishings and nothing too precious, the spaces invite you to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. The result is a down-to-earth Florida compound that feels both storied and effortless—a little bit grand, a little bit cheeky, and entirely at home under the South Florida sun.
